Downriver Canoe Company – Your Next Great River Adventure!

Located in the stunning Shenandoah Valley, a short distance from Washington DC, the South Fork of the Shenandoah is a flowing mountain river long recognized as one of the premier canoeing rivers in the East.

The river flows north through the Shenandoah Valley with Shenandoah National Park to the East and George Washington National Forest to the West.

The normally crystal clear water winds its way through surprisingly remote terrain while passing over a solid rock bottom creating many interesting riffles and pools, with some beginning white water (class II), making it an ideal river for novice and experienced canoeists alike. Fishing is superb.

Downriver Canoe Company invite you to join us in the Shenandoah Valley for an unforgettable day of fun and adventure in canoes, kayaks, rafts and tube floats on one of America’s most beautiful rivers, The Shenandoah.

We head to Downriver a few times a summer. It’s always great fun! We’ve canoed, kayaked, tubed. All are fun.

Plenty of turtles, fish, blue heron and even two eagles to watch as we drifted this lovely river.
